Fr Wrter, die auf einem nasal Vokal enden, folgt der bestimmte Artikel "a"..

1. Pye a - der Fu

2. K a - der Krper

Fr Wrter mit einem Konsonanten denen ein nasaler Vokal vorangeht endet der bestimmte Artikel auf "la". "la".

1. Liv la - das Buch

2. Tab la - der Tisch
Fr Worte die auf  "m und n" enden, ist der bestimmte Artikel  "nan".


1. Tan an - Die Zeit

2. Jaden an - Der Garten

D. Fr Worte die mit einem Konsonanten enden, denen ein nasaler Vokal vorangehen  "an, en, on" , Der definitive Artikel ist "lan".

1. Sant lan - der Geruch

2. Pant lan -  die Ecke (Rand,Kante,Grenze)

E. Fr Worte die auf einem Konsonanten enden "m and n", ist der definitive Artikel "nan".

1. Kann nan - Der Rohrzucker     kann - Rohr

2. Fanm nan - die Frau


 SPEZIAL: Worte, die auf den Vokalen i and ou enden und denen ein nasaler Klang vorausgeht,  Creole gebraucht man den Artikel: an


1. fanmi an -  die Familie (die Endung mi geht ein nasaler Klang voraus)
 

2. senti an -  die Tailie


3. tanbou an -  die Trommel

4. lennmi an - der Feind

Before continuing on to the definite articles. here are the answers to exercise 9.

***In response to the question about what role the definite articles play when using possessive adjectives - Sometimes Haitian Creole speakers do drop the definite article. You will see it mostly when they use it with demontratives (this is, that is, these are, those are).

Example: This is my pencil - Sa se kreyon mwen. (Although it's perfectly fine to say Sa se kreyon mwen an).

1. Chanm mwen gen yon kabann ak twa chèz.     (Or you can also say:)
1. Chanm mwen an gen yon kabann ak twa chèz.

2. Tonton mwen gen de ti moun.

3. Sa se ti gason mwen. Li gen yon ti machin.   (Or you can also say:)
3. Sa se ti gason mwen an. Li gen yon ti machin.

4. Sa se kay mwen. Li gen kat chanm. (Or you can also say:)
4. Sa se kay mwen an. Li gen kat chanm.

5. Paula se vwazen mwen. Li se yon doktè.

6. Mwen gen twa ti liv, yon chapo,ak de mayo.

7. Al chita la.

8. Kanpe isi.

9. Sa se yon gwo pye bwa.

10. Nou se Ameriken.
